    Driving While Intoxicated, or DWI, refers to a criminal charge assigned to anyone caught by a law enforcement agent in the act of using a vehicle while intoxicated by any drug that impairs mental ability or reduces motor skills. The drug most commonly responsible for these offenses is alcohol, but some other common drugs include marijuana, sedatives, opiates, amphetamines, and cocaine.
